I want to buy a iMac, and this may be a dumb question, but will the iMac connect to the existing 802.11g network wirelessly or will I have to get software for the mac to work with it?

802.11g is a standard. You can connect to any wireless network using this standard as long as you have the proper credentials. Any router will work with any computer that supports TCP/IP. No software is needed.

So if your Router is 802.11g is wireless and you have a wireless card then your ready to go.
