So I usually adjust my clutch cable by loosening it till the bike creeps slightly with the clutch in and then tightening it till the creeping stops. Today I was wheeling the bike around a parking lot with the motor running, and I noticed that when I'm not actually sitting on the bike there is a noticable amount of creepage occuring, although the bike is just fine if I have the clutch in while I am sitting on it. Any thoughts on this? How do you adjust your clutch cable?

On my bike I adjust the cable off of the clutch lever (transmission) instead of near the handle. And also, I always have it in neutral until the light turns green or if it is in gear, I hold brake. My bike doesn't creep, but my buddy's did once. It went away because of clutch wear. Maybe you have a brand new clutch and it needs to be broken in.

Don't treat that as a clutch adjuster.
What you're describing will burn out the clutch, as it's always on the verge of disengaging (slipping the clutch).
If you misadjust it the other way (not disengauge enough), the clutch will drag a little when you pull the lever in all the way.
Without the clutch fully disengauging, the transmission will struggle to change gears, ware down the gear dogs, ware the shift drum channels and bend the shift forks.
The adjuster at the clutch lever is to adjust the clutch cable "free play".
It's imperative that there is free play.
Adjust the clutch cable so you can pull the clutch lever a little bit without applying any tension on the cable.
You should be able to pull the clutch lever 1/8" - 1/4" away from the clutch perch, before any tension is applied to the cable.
That's why they make owners manuals - to show new owners how to operate and adjust their bikes.
Purchase a shop manual before you do any damage -
