prefer to read, unless there is a ton of action...................

For instance...........Caleb Carr is wonderful reading, and a movie could never catch the intricacies of his writing........if it tried it would bog down and be boring......

on the other hand, I loved watching Transformers (for all the cool special effects), but have zero desire to read the book.

actually. if I am not actively doing something (camping, working, hunting, etc............) I get bored super easy, and will start to read anything around me, even a cereal box, just for some sort of stimulation of the brain.

I often read 2-3 books a week, sometimes deep, serious stuff (theology, history, the Bible), to popcorn sci-fi novels. As long as the characters are well developed, and the plot is good, I will likely read it.

Some favourites......Edgar Allen Poe, Greg Rucka, Caleb Carr, Tom Clancy, William Bernhardt, Morgan Llewellyn, Anne McCaffrey, Streven Pressfield, Clive Cussler, Robert Frost, Chekov, Dostevosvsky( I know I just butchered his name, sorry), Bugalkov, and Bernard Cornwell......just to name a few...

Read the book, then the movie version.

I love books. I prefer books over movies. The story is much more complete and, the way I read books, it's like I'm living the story myself. I can't get into movies like I can get in a book. I'm limited to what the movie makers wanted me to see. I love to give my brain and imagination the freedom they deserve. Books all the way!

I haven't read a book since 1985. But I prefer the TV movie version, actually.

By the way, I want to date you.

Yes, I'm a bookworm. I just brought a John Grisham-type of novel. One of my favorite books is "To Kill a Mockingbird". I read the book first before I ever saw the movie, which is a gem.

I read. The book is almost always better than the movie, no matter how good the movie may be :-))

I read tonnes of books, mostly medical journals, a few books on politics, some mysteries, DIY books, etc. I've read over 100 books this year alone.
