Always the anticipation. Once we get what we want, we get bored with it quickly and want something more and/or different. It's human nature.

Anticipation, however, holds us captive. It keeps our attention and focuses our energy on what is to come. We relish the thought of how it will be, what it will taste like, how it will feel, how long it will last, etc.

Reality is its own sweet experience, but it's no match for the power and pull of the imagination.

If it's food and something like: Tiramisu dessert and especially if you've had it before from the same place or bakery, than it can be a familiar anticipation that leads to the expectation or actualization. Otherwise, the anticipation might become an eventual let down. Some foods can appear to taste better by how they look than they will actually taste depending on how hungry you are. A restaurant or bakery for example that has a consistent standard or reputation for it's cooking or baking is almost equally delicious and rewarding. I don't like restaurants where I get skunked part time by incompetent cooks who appear to have some personal grudge.

anticipation is what makes it delicious - then the actualisation
