A) 1/1,000
B) 1,000

I take factor meaning they want mulitplication. So conversion factor means what you multiply by to get the answer. If you have 12 mL, and you multiply by 1/1,000 (0.001) you get 0.012 L, which is correct.

Same with the second one. You have 3.5 kg. Multiply by 1,000, and you know you have 3,500 g.

Dude, ALWAYS include units in your conversion factors.

A convertion factor is a ratio that you can multiply by to convert.

a) 1 liter / 1000 mL

b) 1000 grams / 1 kg

1 liter = 1000 ml
1 ml = 0.001 Liter
1 kg = 1000 gm
