If it's Hillary or Osama, I would expect a lot of frustration due to their own incompetence. But as far as public acceptance? I would hope that if they were elected by even a 1 percent margin (like the last 2 elections) that the media and the public would treat them better than we have with President Bush. But since the would likely be Democrats (no way the media would allow a minority or female Republican President), I am hoping that the 49% who didn't vote for him or her will treat them just as badly as the 49% who didn't vote for the President Bush treat him. Civility towards the President has been killed by the media and MoveOn.org, I say we should treat all future Presidents just as badly, wear them down, undermine everything they do and call attention to anything they do that isn't perfect. Especially if they are from the other party!

Nothing different than to a male Caucasian!
Plenty of cynics will criticize & label. There is no shortage of labels for Bush nor were there for Clinton. (moron & adulterer are two.) New jokes will circulate simarler to Bush being only a heart beat away from the precidency.
But government will continue as usual.
During my lifetime it was thought equally as unthinkable that America would have a catholic president. (The naysayers stating that they would owe thier alegence to a foriegn Pope.)
Then JFK was elected. The concern just faded away after the election. It will seem quite usual to have any catogory of president as soon as the first one is there.

Depends on how much entitlements are required to get them into office. The 1st world's economies are already heading towards a train wreck as the energy crisis collides with the baby-boomers' retirement bill.
What is really hilarious is neither side is willing to address the problem. The 1st world's economy runs on energy both to create & use our toys. The 1st world is also predominately producing items that are at the upper end of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
As for the lock box for Social Security to be put in shows that the suggester hasn't thought out the problem. If all those funds were placed in a locked box the economy wouldn't go into a recession, but a depression.

As a Republican, I could handle Hillary being Prez. She wouldn't be my first choice but I could live with it. Wannabe General Obama would be a total disaster. He is no more qualified to be President than I am.

What does either have to do with getting elected or being President. The only people I ever hear bring this up are supporters of Hillary Clinton and/or Obama. I think you are just setting the stage to blame something other than policies when one or both are not elected.

many americans don't like hillary because she is a woman. of course, they will not admit that is the reason they don't like her.
but why does hillary have much higher negatives in her poll numbers than her husband?
but if she is not elected president, the plagues will continue. and if obama does not follow her as the 45th president then the plagues will come back to haunt us.

Neither will make into the White House. Either one will be killed before they take office. A Woman or a member Islam in a time of war there is no way. It will be a great day when it happens.

I think that the right-wing would fully reveal their true bigotry and intolerance for all to see by attacking her/him at every turn.
But I also think he/she would be fine. It would, however, signal the end of the extreme right as an effective political force in the US--permanently. Not because of anything he/she would do--because they would so thoroughly discredit themselves they would never recover.
