What about Parsons' tables? Did you put dasies on your car on in the bathtub for decorations?

Parson's table were those plastic, bold colored simple tables that decorated many a late 60's early 70s' home. We had bright yellow and white but they came in many colors. I am sure once you saw one, you would remember!

Parsons' tables...right on the offshoot of Danish Modern, which in couches & chairs had the first foam-rubber stuffed cushions. This was also the era of the Lipton onion soup & sour-cream dip, the big jugs of Dago red cheapo wine for parties, the avocado color appliances...and let's don't forget shag carpeting and the little rakes you could get to fluff it up between vacuuming. And on the coffee-table, a copy of "Family of Man" photographs put out by MOMA.

Oh, my, yes! Some friends had those hanging plants so
thick we had to duck coming in the house, and you had to
part them with your hands to see who you were talking with.
And macrame, well, it never really went away for me. I still
macrame hangers and hang up plants each Spring and
Summer here, but this year it was for more practical reasons:
our son got a puppy who loves tearing up my potted plants!
Of course, I did find that I loved doing the knots, and will do
more of it in future. Once an old hippie.....
Never heard of parson's tables, could you describe one?
Oh, those stick-on flowers in the bathtub, daisies and the
dots in between. What a pain to get the sticky up when
taking them out!!!!! But we had a shower curtain to match.

I remember Wandering Jew and hanging potted plants and macrame.

I didn't put daisies on my car or in the bathtub. I would love to know what Parsons' tables are.

I still have the Wandering Jew - or its great-grandchild - from a cutting a friend gave me in the '60s. I didn't do the daisies thing, but my friend had Mr. Natural "still truckin'" on her VW beetle. I loved daisies; they were the centerpieces at my wedding. I did macrame and still have some of the plant hangers I made.

It was an era when I, and lots of people, did a lot of handicrafts. I made candles too, and baked my own bread. My mother-in-law thought I was crazy: why bake when you could buy it in the store! Little did she know. Wish I had time to bake now.

I still have some old macrame stuff. I never did put a daisy on my car, but I did put a peace sign on the cover for the rear license plate cover (vw beetle). And, I had pin stripes on the car and a big racing stripe at the bottom near the running boards.

Oh yes, I remember the "Wandering Jew" plants, I had a little sun room full of them. I also had the macrame planters, I just didn't do the daisy thing.
Ah Yes! The good old days.

I certainly did! I loved the macrame' pieces and a friend of mine made me a set. One piece was a wall hanging (lions head) and the other piece was a hanger for a plant. I had an Airplane plant in mine.
