I have many friends who have gotten pregnant while taking their pills regularly. Sometimes "breakthrough ovulation" happens and then you can get pregnant. And condoms are not failproof. They break and leak, etc. Fact is, life always seems to find a way.

Abstinence is the only 100% effective method.

No matter what form of birth control you use there is always a chance of getting pregnant, albeit a very small chance depending on the method you choose.

Used in ideal lab conditions the pill has about a 99% effectiveness rate. However in real life it tends to be more in the neighborhood of 93%. Used with a condom your chances of becoming pregnant are extremely low, but the only 100% effective method of birth control is abstinence.

There is always a chance of getting pregnant if you are having sex. If the methods are used correctly they are very effective together. The birth control pill is 95% effective and the condom is 85% if used correctly. If you use both methods your chance of pregnancy is slim.

LOL! Well using a condom would be good and taking birth control! But I dont believe in birth control stopping from getting pregnant because I got pregnant with my son and this pregnancy while I was on birth control shots. and condoms can break! I would recommend if you dont want to get pregnant than dont have sex

I have to say that I got pregnant while on the pill!!! But we didn't use a condom to!!! So I am sure that by using both, it would decrease your chances even more!!!

The chances of pregnancy using two forms of birth control is not zero, but very low.

Here are the % for many forms of birth control individually.

both condom, used correctly and birth control pills have about a 98% effective rate.

If you are using both and you get pregnant...you were meant to be pregnant....or you are a very fertile person.
