I read that too. Its a human rights issue, but China is full of them. She was not married at the time of the pregnancy, and they did not have a PERMIT to have the child. Aftter a failed attempt to bribe the officials, she was taken for a forced abortion! Its a shame that in this day and age women still suffer simply for being female.

China says they are helping ward off global warming by reducing the population.. less people means less food, less polutants so on and so forth. COMMUNIST PROPOGANDA!

I feel bad for her since now she can not have children.

to all the peopl with thier heads in the sand!

That's because it's China and the Chinese government controls you in every facet of your life. This includes what you are able to view on the Internet to what you do as a job to whether you will still have a home after a dam project to whether they choose to disclose what really happened after a rocket decimated your town to what you can or can't do with your body. The Chinese have a limit on how many children a woman can have and this is often why baby girls end up at the bottom of wells. Some Chinese would rather hold out for a boy than just have a girl. Just be glad that you don't have to make choices like that.

Was this her second child? In China, to control the population, they enacted a law that parents can have no more than one child. If you do, then the state will dish out the penalty. Yes it is barbaric, but, that is their way to control births so they don't have millions of starving and homeless people. Thanks for the question, hope this helps.

The Chinese government has been resposible for almost 300 million abortions due to their one child per family policy, and yes many of them are forced if the person will not willingly get the abortion. In other words it's a liberal nirvana.

well hell it is a choice isn't it? Ok when someone else kills the baby it is murder. China is a very bad place for human rights, many babies have been found born, killed and their brains removed for stem cells( according to the BBC). They will mostly kill the female babies.

So keep buying Chinese products at Walmart.

yes.

be happy america has legal abortion only for those who consent. living in a free country is a great thing.

Jeremy R- women here rarely abort healthy fetuses that far into pregnancy. most abortions take place when the fetus barely resembles a person.

You can't have more than one child in China. It's sad and it's the law.
