Macedonia was a Greek city state like many others and Alexander was King of Macedonia just like Leonidas was King of Sparta. Alexander the Great spread Hellenism (Greek Ideals) and philosophy because he was Greek, otherwise he would have spread Russian or Slavism. There are many quotes of Alexander that confirm his Greekness, here is just one: ''I thank the Gods that I was Born a Hellene'' There are so many more I can go on and on. Read your History people, it is the only thing we have from those times.

Alexander the Great was not Russian. He was born in Pella, in Macedonia, one of the old states in the Greek peninsula.
Here is a quote from the article on Alexander the Great in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, 9th edition (1875):
"ALEXANDER III, commonly called 'Alexander The Great,' son of Philip II, of Macedonia, and Olympias, daughter of the Molossian chied Neoptolemus, was born at Pella, 356 B.C."

Well technically speaking, he's Macedonian, he was the King of Macedon, and as son of Philip II; he expanded the Macedon Empire from solely Macedon and the Greek City States but to that of Persia, Egypt, and into a small portion of India.
