Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will probably never offer any type of apology to the Duke Lacrosse players and neither will Nancy Grace or Professor Houston A. Baker Jr. who demanded the dismissals of the lacrosse players and the coaches. Baker showed his own extremely prejudicial and racist views when he called the players "white, violent, drunken men, veritably given license to rape, maraud [and] deploy hate speech." Strange sentiments coming from a man who has seen racism first hand and sought to show racism for what it is - absolutely uncalled for and detrimental! This whole entire situation proved that many are guilty until proven innocent no matter the race. I believe that some still believe that the Duke Lacrosse players are guilty despite the fact that we now know no rape occurred (no physical evidence) and that the Crystal Mangum actually told several people that she was "going to get paid by those white boys" and that the other dancer, Kim Roberts, stated that the rape was a "crock." The media should have never jumped to conclusions along with Nifong and the case should have never been blown out of proportion. During this day and age I would hope that no person of any race, religion, creed, etc. would be rail roaded and treated in such a manner. The whole thing was a mockery of the justice system!
