I'm from Detroit and I don't think it would be a terrible idea. Detroit is so rich with histroy, even if it has gone to hell. The DIA, the History Museum and Science center are all quite notable Museums.

I can't imagine them going to 8 Mile but I'm sure there's a place for them to stay in or near Detroit.
I did hear that they plan to go to LA to visit David Beckham.
