Bush’s actions in Iraq took down a secular government under which women had more rights than they have now. The new Constitution refers to Muslim law as governing.

Bush’s actions also helped a hardliner, Ahmajinidad, get elected in Iran. The conservatives in Muslim nations have gained support as a result of the reaction to Bush’s aggressive actions and that has harmed women’s rights a great deal.

The Taliban is out of power. What rights did they give women? None. That's right. Now the women can go to school.

Saddam and his 2 sons are no longer terrorizing the women of Iraq with rape squads. Torture chambers are shut down, political murders by his henchmen have stopped. I personally have talked to the women in Iraq who told horror stories of how their husbands were taken away as political prisoners in the middle of the night only to be never seen again.

I can't say that the Republican party is solely to thank for this. Thanks also goes to the Democrats for voting to send us there, for voting to continue the funding of the war. And of course thanks goes to the men and women who have served with distinction and honor to free these people. And note that there are Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents serving in the armed forces. They have all made these things possible.

Hate the war if you must, protest it and call for an immediate end if you must. But make no mistake, their lives are safer and better.

If you must give me a "thumbs down" don't do it just because you believe differently. Do it because you think this answer is just a bad one and not wrong. Bring em on. I expect as much from those who hate me.

The Republicans are wearing down the Political/Economic and Social system that are the source of women's oppression in the muslim world, Islam.
In the film "Farenheit 911", the best segment of the docupropaganda was the woman standing in the ruins calling for Allah. Allah is no match for General Tommy Franks and the US Military. I think the muslims noticed this too.

There are plenty of muslim women in this country. Let's worry about them and leave other countries to fight their own revolutions. How many people realize that we're borrowing about 2 billion dollars a day from the (communist) Chinese government to fund our pointless wars of attrition? How long will it be before the Chinese call us on that debt? I can't imagine what will happen when they decide that they want a better return on their investment, and come knocking on our doors. Actually, and I really ask you to check this out before you thumb me down or dismiss me, women had plenty of rights in Iraq (which was secular prior to our intervention); they could vote, drive, go to college, own and run businesses.

Since we have installed our new improved government there, they have no such rights.

Like I say, before you dismiss my answer, look it up and you'll see I'm right.

So I would have to say, we haven't done all that much.

On the other hand, Moslem nations have actually had women presidents; which seems like an insurmountable hurdle here in the supposed free USA.

Is it our duty to save women in the muslim world. I'm not against this country reaching out to help others, but this planet is called Earth not the United Countries of America. At some point don't we have to stop trying to control.

That being said it is a tragedy what many women around the world are subjected to.

Hmmm, I'd say by removing Saddam and his tag-team rapist sons from the face of the earth was a good start.
