No. Lactating will not suppress the HcG hormone found in your urine in high levels when you are pregnant.

You produce special hormones while you are nursing but they won't interact with a pregnancy test.

Did you get a positive? If so, congratulations!

Not unless you use breastmilk instead of urine on the test strip.

34. I'm breastfeeding. Can that affect my pregnancy test results? No. While lactating women do produce various hormones, none of them cross-reacts with pregnancy tests. A breastfeeding woman can use a pregnancy test and expect her results to be just as accurate as a non-breastfeeding woman. Using urine, that is. If you dip a pregnancy test in breastmilk you may obtain a false positive result. Stick to pee and you'll be fine.

I don't think so. I read something about this a while ago, and you are producing different hormones when lactating than when you are pregnant.

If it's positive, it's positive. False positives don't occur - you have to have HcG in your system to make a positive show.
