Gerry and Kate McCann said they had instructed their lawyers to begin legal action against Tal & Qual for the "deeply hurtful" story.

Is the costs of this legal action coming from the "Madeleine's fund Leaving no stone unturned"?

Could this action be considered things to come?

This was my concern also - from the fund! watch this space. I believe it WILL come from there, "tactics" on their behalf.
I thought days ago they said that they were not going to sue the papers!! change of mind! or a good lawyer who is telling them the best way out now is to show face and don't admit defeat.

I'm a wee bit crumbly here, too many voddi's. that time of night/morning -- thumbs UP --- probably down SO.
Thanks in advance for the genuine/nice comments.

I doubt that they would be that stupid to take it directly from the fund - but there are ways round it.

EG - They could fund it from the INTEREST of the main find Maddy fund. They could then truthfully say 'We did not take money from donated cash to find Maddy.'

Or they could be funding it themselves

Or as it is a high profile case their Lawyers might have come up with a deal EG - "We'll launch the case and fight it but will take a % of anything that is won"

The issue is they are so 'secretive' about the fund that people have no idea HOW the money is being spent.

people would question it if they dident sue

yes i do think more lawsuits will be on the way , this couple do have connections and they are prepared to use them
if they can find the money to sue why did they start a fund or better still pay for a babysitter
suing wont help to find madeline, this case has always been about kate and gerry

I still believe they are negligent parents BUT if they did not kill Madelaine (I don't believe they murdered or accidentally killed her) then it is an awful thing for them to read in the paper especially when the Police claim they are not suspects.
However I would hate it if they use the fund money to fund the legal action!

i think the Paper involved should counter-sue for malicious prosecution!
if the Press lose, what hope have we for printing any news or giving the general public some facts behind it?
that's the problem with the mccanns, one minute they're courting the Press when it's all going their way,
next minute they're screaming foul-play!
& they can't have it both ways.
they've never admitted or even accepted it was wrong to leave 3 children to their own devices for hours on end, all for the want of a take-away & a bit of common sense!

According to Gerry's blog yesterday, he says:
'The legal expenses for the proceedings will not be paid from Madeleines fund.'

l get a weird feeling the girl could have been abducted by the
same sinister aliens who mutilate cows in USA.
But we have
other cases of mysterious disappearances here and in Ireland
and they dont seem to attract the same volume of press coverage why?

I could desire to assert that is one hell of a concept scary link. I presume there to be greater evidence than suspicion of paedophilia or somebody is going to get sued. If that blokes not responsible he has a water tight libel case and the British press does not dare run with the story imprinted on the 1st link. I additionally won't be in a position to study the 2d link :0(
