I don't understand why people decide to get so attached to one party and then rabidly defend it and attack the other party, without looking at all the facts and being objective. I mean sure its good to have an opinion and know where you stand but why always defend people that agree with you and attack those who disagree with you? There are good people and bad people in both parties. And why do we have to hate the other guy? I mean I'll support whoever I think is better for the country but I have no reason to hate the other guy and say horrible things about him or her, and I don't have any reason to love and defend the guy I'm voting for against everything. Maybe I'm wierd but I can't imagine not being a moderate.

The struggle to be in power no matter if the they are right or wrong. Both parties on every level of government will lie just to get an office.

I fully agree with you-and there did wasn't this kind of bitter division in politics in the past as a general rule (a few exceptions, here and there).

What happened? Well, here it is--with the caution that, although I am highly partisan myself, the following is simply a factual outline--you can check it out.

In the late 70s and early 80s, the most "right wing" conservatives--many well-intentioned, began to join into groups such as the "Moral Majoity" The ensuing compination of the "religious right" and neoconservatives" became highly partisan--and used election year pressure to impose their ideology on the GOP. That began a polarization process--though not an unusual one in American politics. Usually, these trends simply reverse themselves.

However, in 2000 a group of election "engineers (forwant of a better word)--the most well known being Rove--openly used division--"wedge issues" and smear tactics (e.g.attacks on John McCain's character in 2000--to engineer Bush's election.

That ideology and choice of strategy and tactics is essentially one of "win at any cost" and the leaders of the neoconservative movement by then--and since--openly stated their intent to impose that ideology on the nation, like it or not. Again--that's not eing judgemental--it is a matter of record.

The response--from the liberal end at first, but now increasingly from the center--and even many conservatives--has become equally strong in reaction to this.

How to resolve this? If you go by history--there will be one of two resolutions:: either the US will become in effect a one-party system--the neoconservative GOP (which is Karl Rove's stated goal--again, you can look it up). Or--the neoconservatives will be completely rejected. Historically, the latter is what happens in America (this kind of thing has been tried before--look at the McCarthy era). And--all the indications are that the American people are again rejectig domination by a extremist group. ONce that process plays itself out, we'll see a return of civility (sort of!) to the American political scene.

People who are not involve in politics hates due to the system of governing the nations is beheading the rights of every individual in the society through corruption, and by capitalism, even before this trademark in political system is an error to every citizen living in a nation that is promising according to this politicians. We will never expect good going up to deepest out-put a politician can possibly done to a nation where it reach with its resources but collapses this images through selfishness of this politicians elected by voters during election time. As voter, I only vote for a running politician that was lesser evil.

First of all, it saddens me to hear people discuss the ONE party or the OTHER. We're supposed to have open elections. Why is it that if someone is from a party other than Democrat or Republican, they're labeled 'Independent'? The Democrats and Republicans aren't really all that different, after all. They both favor BIG GOV, and neither of them respect their mandate, the constitution. But, to your question, I believe that the hate that you're referring to is a side effect of each representative's lust for office, and they hate anyone who would prevent them from reaching their goals. Abraham Lincoln foretold that the lust for public office would be our government's biggest problem. These people are supposed to be public servants, not lords of the manor. The goverment wonders why nobody votes... It's because the American people aren't presented with any viable options. That's my two cents. GO RON PAUL!

I honestly think it is more the neo-cons then anything.Personally I also consider myself a moderate. However if I question why two planes brought down three skyscrapers I am called a liberal nut job.It is like nobody is supposed to question the "official" theory of 9/11!I honestly think a lot of the hate amongst the average citizenry is due to the neo-cons.Bush summed up the neo-con philosophy after 9/11............."If you aren't with us you are against us."Simply keep in mind the Bush administrations response when the first democrats started questioning the wisdom of staying the course in Iraq. They were called traitors for voicing the public opinion!

There is so much hate in politics because politics is the struggle for power. Politicians will say and do just about anything to get power. In order to get ahead, politics may have to play dirty. The average citizen picks up on this type of behavior and starts to hate as well which is unfortunate. Besides, people always want their side to win.

I agree, there are good and bad in both parties. Politics is a cut throat game where the strongest survive. You have to be mean and nasty, no matter who you are if you want a chance to win. Citizens are the same way, wanting their "party " to be the winner. We all just need to take a step back, breathe, and not judge everybody for the wrongdoings of a few. Thanks and have a good day.

Because for the most part parents raise their children teaching them to "hate" whatever they don't understand, or anything or anyone that is "different" than they are, or their lifestyle is; and then they are like lemmings; someone they listen to on the radio tells them that "John Doe" is a "bad" person, and they pass that false and erroneous information on to their children.

It is a self fulfilling prophecy and can last for 3 or 4 generations before someone gets wise to it. My mother tried to convince me that Herbert Hoover was a "good" president. Can you believe it. Fortunately, I had a brain, and when I was in high school I used it. So I didn't fall for that line of crap ....

Because people believe that you are cheating, by lying and misinforming others. You do this because you want to win, so you compromise with the truth and deceive others. I, on the other hand, am frustrated because I only want to tell the truth.

I think this where the hate comes from: thinking that the other side is intentionally deceiving to get ahead.

Because we want to keep Tradition as a means for unity, and Liberals want to tolerate all Multiculturalism, and it has fractured America to the very core of its Founding.

Due to the Liberal ideologies of today - society has turned in enmity against God.

Where is the American standard - "One Nation Under God"??

Apart from the unity of the Law of God, No government can stand!!!
