It happens very often, actually, although women don't usually do much of it. Just a little comes out from all of the pushing and straining.

I have this information straight from a Labor & Delivery nurse who has been doing this for over 20 years! She said that when it happens it's only a little bit, and the attendants are all used to seeing it and no one thinks anything of it and they whisk it away very quickly and replace the pads underneath you.

It's pointless to get an enema because many women get one and find that they STILL push out a little bit of fecal matter anyway. There's no way to avoid it if it's going to happen and believe me, it's the last thing you'll be thinking of in the middle of a painful labor anyway.

Many women have diarrhea or loose stools when early labor starts. I always do. So your system mostly cleans itself out anyway before the birth. That's why even if something comes out it's only a tiny bit.

Most the time they take an enema before giving birth but some people don't get to plan and they might poop when they are straining. It does not happen everytime. C sections don't poop when they give birth.I knew a woman who did that when she gave birth and her husband was picking on her and laughing about it.

It can happen while you are pushing during labor. It's nothing to worry about, the doctors and nurses have seen it all and know it's normal. However, if you go into labor on your own, it's much more likely you will have loose stools during the earlier part of your labor that cleans out your system. It's a natural part of labor and then there is nothing to poop out during the pushing phase.

This happens really frequently and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. If you poop, that means you're pushing correctly! The nurses and midwives have seen this plenty of times and they do not make a fuss about it.

yes, they do, don't worry, when you are pushing the baby out it is the last thing you will worry about. And it's nothing to be embaressed about. It's natural.
