The Republicans pressured Craig to resign. They didn’t pressure Vitter because Louisiana has a Democratic governor who would replace Vitter with a Democrat. The Republicans are hypocrites every which way.

The entire Craig incident shows just how screwed up the Repubs version of morality is. They can't act fast enough to pressure Craig to resign for breaking the law in an incident involving gay sex. And yet Vetter has acknowledged he was involved with a prostitute (also an illegal act) and yet he was never charged nor pressured to resign. Bottom line message, anything gay of any kind is bad, adultery and breaking the law is OK. Strange how wide spread gay-phobia is within the Repub party, and yet more Repubs have these hidden gay habits.

When a party sets itself up to be some sort of moral "guardian", tries to legislate morals and values, and claims to be on some moral highground, with a leader who gets his working papers directly from God to his ear....well, you can see why any slip or fall would make the "slip-er" a person not wanted around.
On the other hand, Dems have not disparraged morals, but they realize that everyone has their own, and that people DO make mistakes. They do not immediately turn on a person who makes mistakes, either.
I, personally, don't care what Craig did in the bathroom, but, judging by previous remarks about Clinton, he has shown himself to be a hypocrite. If he has been a good Senator for his constituency, they should not let him leave office. And Mitt Romney's about face should tell everyone something about the newest member of the Teflon-set!

Because a lot of people in this country tend to see them as the "Working people's party", not realizing they could care two cents for the "workers". They are just as corrupt as the GOP, maybe more so. I agree with you on Ted Kennedy and, while we are at it, although I respected and admired John Kennedy(God rest his soul), he did have affairs in the White House several times. So, I guess Clinton is a "John Kennedy "after all!! LOL

I don't think you want to go down the road of naming scandals, because Republican loose hands down. Just to make this point you had to cover a period of 30 years, I bet I can out number the scandals by Republicans in just a 5 year span.
1.Duke Canigham
2.Mark Foley
3.David Vitter
4.Larry Craig
5. Ted Stevens
6. Bob Ney
7. Tom Delay
and I can keep going if you'd like, by the way all these just this year, alone.

Ted Kennedy didn't commit a crime. it was ruled an accidental death. If voters didn't like the ruling they could have easily not re-elected him.
Barney Frank was investigated by the House Ethics committee and exonerated (you left that part out):
"After an investigation, the House Ethics Committee found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity."
Republicans have to resign because they were so stone-cold guilty of something that the evidence would have buried them. They never underwent investigation by cops or ethics committees.
Clinton did, and was acquited, and he could be re-elected President in a heartbeat.

because dems don't run on morals and personal beliefs.
if a dem does something immoral to anyone- but something legal- its not a big deal. it doesn't make it right and its not encoraged, but its not that serious.
I personally want legalized prostitution in more than just one state. if we had that this would only be an issue to one party.
the only reason libs are mad is because of the hypocracy.
if you say you dislike homosexuality- then you shouldn't participate in homosexual activitiy.
if you say you don't like non-marital sex- then don't have it

I would say that it is a double standard but that would be incorrect. That would imply that the dems have standards. Republicans calling for his resignations (notice I didn't say all Republicans) are trying to enforce standards of conduct. When you do wrong, you are held accountable. I'm not saying that the Republican party is holier than thou, but at least he plead guilty and didn't quibble over what "is" is.

Dems will say because they didn't run on family values, thus they can be as "immoral" as they want in their personal lives and not be hypocrites; Reps will say because of the leftist media.
I say it's a case by case basis but usually some of both. And in Teddy's case it's because everybody loved his dead brothers.
