I used to think I knew I knew,
but now I must confess;
the more I knew I knew,
I know I know the less!

Hi,
I realize even at 46 years old I didn't know as much as I thought when my daughter started homeschooling and is now
in her senior year. I looked at how responsible and dedicated
she was to her education Her work has been harder than anything I'd ever done through high school. I thought maybe I was kind of dumb, but when high school teachers have looked at her work and commented on this work being on a college level and I've helped some but she did most. It makes me realize sometimes our children are very bright given the right encouragement. So I started sitting down with my daughter and relearned somethings I had forgotten and also learned some new things.

I've always held the opinion that of the total knowledge available and to be learned over human history, that I know a mere fraction of a per cent of what there is to know.

Overestimating ourselves is a chosen belief about ourselves. Just as considering someone stupid is a choice to underestimate another.

Considering ourselves intelligent is certainly a way to deal with inferiority and to have others feel inferior.
