Is a return address required for mail from the US to the UK?

I am mailing a letter from the US (NY) to the UK (Wales). Is it required to put a return address? I don't want to. Please help!

Legally, return addresses are not required. You are giving the government a valid reason to open your mail by hiding your identity.

U should put a return address so if it can not be delivered it will be returned to U. Y don't U want to?? What R U hiding??
