How can we be sure that the people in the mental institutions are the insane ones and that the rest of us aren't just sharing some massive group-delusion?

And what if we are?!

Because there is nobody in a mental institution who shares the same delusion as another- each delusion differs, is entirely personal and individual. It's a cool thought, but I don't think it bears out.

I'm not so sure that the word insane is used anymore. I think it comes in categories and degrees now. You're right in that some of the mentally ill and incompetents of the world have made great advances in the sciences, things that are still used today. "Some" of those who were not afraid to think outside the box and who couldn't fit within society, have made great advances. So I'd think we'd all be better off if we didn't "rush to judgment', and that we learned to work together.

Well. I think that many of us have mental disorders but we can escape from to go to mental institutions and they (the Insane people) don't can escape so, that is the reason why they are over there and not us.

yes the materialism has created the type of schizophrenia that the haves deprive the have nots in a manner that it is very narrow margin of 15-20percent that distinguishes normal from abnormal normal are those who adheres to majority thinking and majority does not care about etics when it comes to real business so when we cross the limits of humanity we are abnormal humanely but normal humanely

Define "insane". Like "insane" for the moment? Or "insane" as in prices?

Ha. We are all crazy and insane in our own way. It's just the extent of our insanity is what makes us who we are.
