I am 4 mths pregnant and I have no clue what the BPM is for my baby. Of course it's hard to find the babies heartbeat b/c my uterus tilts towards the back and they have to sometimes do an ultrasound to make sure It's ok and so far everything is normal. Well I got a dizzy spell and had to go to the hospital on Monday. I had to make an appt after that to see the OB to make sure everything was ok and to let them know what was up. They finally found the heartbeat on the listining monitor and they said everything sounded good and I could hear the hearbeat but they didn't count it. Was it b/c it was hard enough to find it?

I'm sure they counted it. They just didn't tell you.

When I was getting an ultrasound I was looking t the screen and saw when it was counting the heart rate and saw the number. No one ever told me what the BPM was, I just figured it out on my own.

Usually it's anywhere from the 110's to the 180's. They may have counted the BPM and not told you. Nowadays most of the monitors they use give the BPM on a little display. My uterus also tilts but my regular OB never had a problem finding my son's heartbeat. I did have another OB at about 12 weeks who scared me when she couldn't find a heartbeat. You may want to ask if there is someone who is more experienced at finding the baby's heartbeat, but in a nice way.

171 at 11 weeks...I'm 14 now and I will find out next week when I'm 15 weeks...I wonder if it will be the same. I think that they usually do it on an ultra sound.....I would lose track if I had to count my baby's heart beats...

120-170 is normal. My uterus is very tilted back as well, but they heard it with a doppler at 11 weeks.

they don't usually tell you the count, but I think anywhere from 130-160 bpm is normal.
