Bruce Robison is the songwriter of that one, as well as George Starit's "Desperately", Tim McGraw's "Angry All The Time" and (unfortunately) the Dixie Chicks' "Travelling Soldier".

The latter song was #1 the day Nathalie Maines denounced our President during a concert in England with US and English military present.
