I had to sit in a kitchen chair for one hour straight. If I slammed the door, my mom made me open and close the door 500 times.

It depends on what I did. I used to be beat up, not in a domestic violence sense, just a slap or spank, ear/hair pulling, sometimes a kick in the buttocks. The funny thing is that I've always been rather built so I would hardly feel a thing and laugh at my parents what made them really angry hahaha. There were other times when I was sent to eat to the bathroom. there were times when they went a bit over the edge but I'm still here luckily. I'm not sure I'd treat my children the same way, I'm rather lenient I suppose.

I was the 6th kid, so I knew what I could get away with and not get away with. I didn't get punished very often at all. Got spanked once for cussing out my brothers (they deserved it, they kidnapped my favorite dolly). My dad would lecture and then ground us from going out with friends/boyfriends. Maybe assign some extra chores. The worst punishment was always seeing the look of disappointment in my Mom's eyes whenever I did wrong.

When I was real little I was sent to the corner.
When I got older it was more difficult, because I didn't enjoy TV much, I liked reading, and going outside. So usually I was just grounded to the house. I didn't get into trouble much, so no big deal.
My mother only ever really hit me twice. Once with a HUGE belt, because my brother stole 5 dollars from my fund raiser envelope, and wouldn't admit it. (We both got it until he confessed) And once because I cussed at her. I was 16. She is a former Marine, 6ft tall, she grabbed me by the arm, threw me into the recliner, then got on top of me and whacked me in the head. And screamed "WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME?!??!"
Wow, from that I sound abused. But I assure you I had a WONDERFUL mother.
Oh and if I acted up in public, (Which was VERY rare. We were good kids.) My dad would pinch the soft spot on the back of my arm.

My Grandmom was the matriarch... We had to kneel in front of her, tell her what we did wrong, why it was wrong, and why we chose that course of action... Then she very lightly tapped us on the forehead as if to say, "Think!"... Talking about it was excruciating... Our friends thought that this was great, but we would have preferred a spanking... In retrospect, we had it good... AND... Now we are thinking people...

When I was a little kid they spanked me, when I was older they took stuff away, no car, no motorcycles etc!!!It worked pretty well I didn't get into much.

They didn't let me do things i liked,for example watch some cartoons and those things...also play with friends.That's how we become better humans with morals and values i guess!
