The Blue Jays wear an SP patch on their home white uniforms to pay tribute to one-time club chairman/CEO Sam Pollock.

Wow, I can't believe how many people have no idea what they're talking about here.

JFT is correct - the SP is in honor of Sam Pollock, who served as the Jays' CEO from 1995 to 2000. Pollock is better known, though, for his tenure as the GM of the Montreal Canadiens during their 1970s dynasty. He was responsible for drafting Guy Lafleur and many of the other centerpieces of those Habs teams.

Some announcer died like last year and they are still honoring him ( he was a huge figure in sports and a Jays announcer)
