Why not Emerson! I think thats a very cute name! Instead of changing her name, just call her by some cute nicknames for Emerson, like Emmy... In my opinion, Emerson Rose sounds a lot better than Emily Rose. (it reminds me of the exorcist movie) Emily is too popular--Emerson is a unique, cute name. Your daughters name is already beautiful--keep it as it is!

(Lastly, not to be rude but she probably came to you when you called out Emily, because it sounds very similar to her original name...she's only 2, so she probably doesnt really get the difference yet. If you start calling her Emily, it will confuse her when it comes time for her to go to school, when the teacher calls out 'Emerson' from the attendance list, when shes used to being called Emily. Thats just my opinion...its your daughter so do whatever you think is best.)

Kind of a strange story here and asking us. Even though I like both names, you really shouldn't change the name. Emerson Rose is not bad, I actually like it, but it seems too late to change it, don't you think? Are you "legally" going to change her name? There's a lot to be done. I think you should keep the name Emerson (sounds kinda weird by the first name but all together I like Emerson Rose), just call her Emily or Emmy or Emma or Emeri Rose or her full name if it doesn't sound right to you. Many people have nicknames for their kids, for example my family calls me by my full name which I like better, Holly Jane. Or if your doing it for your daughter's sake (of being picked, or her hating her name, etc.), do it before she gets older, maybe you are making the right decision. But if your doing it because you like the name (should have thought of this before), then I don't know. A girl I meet at work said her parents named her Ericah (same as Erica) and thought it was bizzar and was always questioned by it, she hated it so changed it to Erica when she got older. It's really up to you.

Well, I do like Emily better than Emerson. If you're going to call her Emily, I'd just change her name to that. It would make things easier.

Emerson sounds masculine.
Since you call her Emily, switch her to Emily before she starts school, and learns that her name is Emerson, rather than Emily. Emily is much cuter by the way.My cousin Emily has the nick name "Emmy" I think its adorably

Hi
Yes Emily is pretty.
If you prefer the name Emily just call her that, if she answers to it there shouldnt be a problem, but her official documents will show her name as Emerson, unless you change it legally.

if you dont like emerson then why did you name your little girl that. you should of just named her emily if you like that better. i like emily better as well. if you want to call her that then go for it. lots of people have nicknames i dont see the harm in calling her emily. im sure she will appreciate the nickname of emily when she gets older.
