My husband says so. He says that junk food, sweets, fruits & vegies make a girl, and "strong" foods, like steak, beans & potatoes, make a boy.

Has anyone ever heard that? Should I even believe that?

Well, I did tell him about the chromosomes. But he strongly believes that what you're taught in school isn't necessarily the truth & is used to make everyone think the same.
So, I guess I just wondered if anyone else had heard that.
Thanks.

Sure - and the position that you conceived in ALSO affects it...

As soon as an egg divides for the first time upon impregnation the sex is determined. It's in the chromosome carried by the sperm. Your husband has some real "last millennium" ideas about pregnancy and the sexes.

Um, no, the chromosomes in your husband's sperm determine the gender of the baby.

Your hubby needs to go back to health/sex ed class. ;)

** He doesn't believe what they teach in school? I suppose he is more educated than the scientists who have studied this kind of thing for decades? And you're married to this know-it-all? Oh boy. You've got yourself a winner, from the sounds of it. Sheesh.

That's a definite No. It sounds like he is maybe trying to get you to get properly while you are pregnant.I recommend buying or going to the Library and getting 'The Pregnancy Bible' by Joanne Stone,MD and Keith Eddleman,MD. It has relay helped me throughout my pregnancy, on everything.
Well Good Luck.

Hi
No food you eat doesnt determine the gender of the baby, your partners sperm is the one that determines the gender of the baby and thats done at time of conception.

No your baby's sex is already determined at the moment of conception. There is nothing anyone can do to change that, especially not certain foods.

wow. Your husband should re-consider his philosophy about not believing what is taught in school... I mean his theories aren't very impressive. He should at least do research before he spreads his "wisdom" of nonsense.
