That's what I'm making tonight and serving on those canned biscuits.

Love the stuff! Where in the world can you even find the real chipped beef anymore--perhaps I should make you a question all your own just for that? I remember buying the Hormel's brand, and it came rolled up all salty & dry in a glass jar...and you had to unroll it, then soak it a little first to loosen it up, then shred it into a cream sauce. When I was little, my mom used to buy it at the butcher's [remember butchers?] and then frizzle the torn-up bits in butter, then sprinkle in flour and stir around....then add the milk to make the creamy sauce. Ooooooh that was good. We used to have it on toasted English muffins [the kind you had to tear apart with a fork to split] or on toast. Hey thanks for reminding me about this grand old treat. Lucky you tonight...enjoy!

Yes I do. I buy the chipped beef at the store and make the white sauce. We prefer it on toast though.

Hey Dottie, are you hungry?

Hi,I believe Stouffer`s frozen foods makes a decent chipped beef with sauce.I like it over Texas toast,in the morning.Actually you can use it with what ever you care to have with it.Try it you will like it.Good Luck.

Chipped beef with white gravy and peas, served on toast. U.S. Navy calls it SOS.....XXX on a shingle. First time I had it, it wasn't in the Navy, but made by a Navy wife...and now my wife makes it. She always called it plain old SOS...my sons always called it SOS. Then one day my oldest son called after he made some for his wife and said his wife wanted to know what the SOS stood for. He didn't know either. HAHAHAHAHAA

Forty five years and I haven’t missed it at all.

Nah. We got away from it when the kids were small. Invariably, at least one of them, or perhaps both of them ended up vomiting a few hours later.
My husband has fond memories of them. I don't.
