Ever since I got my first Depo shot, about 2 months ago, I've been bleeding regularly. During that time I passed a big thing the doctor called a cast, that was the lining of my uterus, and anyway I'm still bleeding. I made a doctor appointment but I'm wondering could it be the depo shot?
The point of that shot is so you can have sex and not get pregnant, not have a period so you can't have sex.
I didn't even know my body had that much blood, and I feel horrible. Does anybody know what's wrong?

Prolonged, heavy vaginal bleeding may be a serious adverse effect of the Depo-Provera shot.

Depo-Provera is medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA), which prevents ovulation, so there is no egg to be fertilized. It also thickens your cervical mucus and thins the lining of the uterus.

You may want to be aware that Depo-Provera has been "black-boxed" by the FDA due to a possible link between the medication and irreversible bone loss as well as prevention of important bone growth and building in young women. The longer the use, the more possible the risk.

You have made the right decision in contacting your physician. You may want to discuss other methods of contraception with him/her.

Don't pressure out. It's k! I get without difficulty freaked out with well being disorders to. It's referred to as hypochondria and it is all utterly intellectual. It's the way you believe! If you believe on those matters to a lot then you are going to make it even worse. So attempt to calm down, distract your brain with whatever else and recall to respire. It's very common for women your age to have abnormal cycles. It will also itself out afterward in years. Eventually you are going to have it so common that you're going to be competent to inform what day or across the time of the month it'll come! This takes a while regardless that, your frame remains to be being used to this, similar to you. If you're very involved approximately this regardless that, I advise you speak for your mother or one other grownup feminine that you'll be able to believe and make an appointment with a gynecologist. As in your ft, possibilities are your socks/sneakers have been to tight, slicing off imperative move (blood go with the flow) for your ft. Or should you have been on all of them day then that can be a signal for you to sit down down and provide them a relaxation.. or a therapeutic massage. =)

Don't ever get the depot shot again and stop trying to not get pregnant. Women need to have babies not prevent them. Is there no shame in women being barren anymore? Now go to the doctor and get this checked out immediately and quit all this birth control.
