Joba should of never been suspended. Ejected..yes...suspended...no. I'll tell you why.

Those 2 pitches were near Youkilis's head. And a 99MPH fast ball at your head is career ending. Whether the ball was slippery or not or just bad control. Do not let a pitcher pitch who threw 2 99MPH fastballs near the head.

Suspended?? HECK NO! If u look at the replays u can see Joba wiping his hand off which was probably wet from sweat meaning he lost grip. Don't suspend Joba.

I don't think it was right to suspend him without a warning from the ump. The ump obviously didn't suspect foul play after the first pitch.. (at least not enough to warn Joba and the Yankees) and then Joba gets ejected?? And now a suspension??

Over the head once is the ball slipping out of your hand. Twice in a row in the same spot is hard to explain away as an accident. The suspension is deserved. But I agree that it doesnt matter cause Joba wouldnt neccessarily pitch either of those games anyway so its a mute point.

Picture this... the Yankees win the first two games and were winning the third 5-0 at the top of the 9th inning. Why would they beam anyone? Especially Kevin Youkilis. If the Yankees wanted to get even for Boston beaming A-Rod, they would have done it sooner than the 9th inning of the last game of the series. But, as usual, Boston cries and the League puts them in a cradle and eases them to sleep by handing down a suspension. If you think Chamberlain wanted to decapitate Youkilis, you are paranoid. Get over yourselves, Boston fans.

I think baseball needs to use better judgment and overturn the umpires ruling. Joba clearly was NOT trying to hit anyone. The Yankees are up 5-0 in the 9th. There was no problems in the game prior to the umpires call.

Selig needs to step up to the plate for once in his life and do the right thing.

Totally deserved. Are you telling me that someone can "slip" and "accidentally" throw a ball over Youks' head twice in a row? If his control is really that bad then maybe he needs to go down to AAA and work on his mechanics. Policing is throwing at a guy once. Not a couple times in an at bat. Im all for protecting your teammates but thats clearly a case of headhunting and at 5-0 what does Joba have to prove? 2 games is worth it even if he wouldnt throw in either of them anyway.

I dont think he even deserved to be thrown out of the game. Look it doesnt make any sense whatsoever for him to throw at him. The Yankees were up 5-0 in the 9th inning and there was already an out. There is no reason he would want to put a baserunner on for free. Also Chamberlain is only 21 years old. He hasnt been in the league to develop any real grudges with guys. He is a young kid so I suspect he just lost his control for second. If he was throwing at Youklis he was doing a terrible job. The ball went way over his head twice.

It was very dumb. But, he was due for two days off anyway, with the Joba Rules.

I hope the kid learned his lesson - if you are going to get suspended you should at least drill someone.

the suspension was complete bs
hes a rook and if he was going to hit youkilis, it wouldnt have sailed over his head
but he was going to rest 2 days due to the joba rules so it doesnt really matter
