Favorite food had to be my mother's spaghetti and meatballs. And ice cream, of course!...usually had to be banana or pistachio. Candy, well that's a long list. Loved the penny candy and my favorites were licorice, those candy buttons on paper, root beer barrels and can't forget the Mary Janes. As far as candy bars, had to be either a Chunky Bar or a Charleston Chew. Our first and only "big" family vacation was to Atlantic City, and that's when I discovered salt water taffy and at age 7, thought it was so special! And lastly, TruAde orange soda was my "beverage of choice" back then, and Hires root beer was a close second. Fun question!

Yeah, Dottie.

I loved those long caramel candies on a stick. Can't remember the name. They changed the name and I don't know anymore. I sure liked them. They lasted a long time. I also like candy corn at Halloween and I loved chocolates with fruit inside them.

My favorite beverage was a Chocolate drink in a bottle. Hard to find but when we traveled on vacation, we could find one. I also like Nehi grape drinks. Used to leave a little purple line above my lip. My parents would not buy soft drinks or even Kool-Aid when I was growing up so it was a real treat to get one.

My favorite food was a hamburger and still is, next to lobster and shrimp. I love hamburgers.

I liked Tootsie Rolls and Coke in the old fashioned heavy glass bottles that you turned back in to be sterilized and refilled by the Coke Company. Hershey Bars, the big ones for a nickel were good too. Penny lollipops in the big jar at the corner store.

I loved a drink called cremola foam. I signed a petition the other day to bring it back! mmmn
A nice cup of Milo or Bournvita at bedtime.
steak and kidney pud
lemon meringue pie

Nobody is going to remember this, but my favorite candy bar was Dip. It had pictures of a monkey on the wrapper.

Mounds or Almond Joy candy bars. Didn't get them often, as they cost a dime, when most candy was a nickel or penny.

I loved spaghetti. My grandma made the best spaghetti... Or it seemed like it ;D
She died in March (of cancer) when I was in fourth grade, so she really represented my childhood.

And there was this candy store somewhere near the beach that my Mum would take me to sometimes... They gave you a little wooden pail to put candies in, and all the candy was in barrels so it looked like they had infinite amounts of candy in there (of horse, later I figured out that there were planks a few inches into the barrels, so there really weren't barrelfuls of candy in there :P). It was a real treat to go there. I loooved all sorts of candy when I was little. I wish I had eaten healthier back then, but no-one was that aware of childhood obesity then. (Good thing I never actually became obese, thank god for high metabolisms)

I've also always loved steak. I remember when I was four, I put too much sauce on it by accident and my Mum got mad at me:
Mum: "Who's going to eat that much steak sauce, Emmy?"
Me: "Me."
Mum: "Me's going to eat that much steak sauce"
Me: "Um... yes?"
Lol...

P.S. I believe Makeitright is referring to Sugar Daddies in her first paragraph.

(Oh yes, Nichelle, I used to sneak butter like there was no tomorrow)
