Freud :love is based ultimately on the pursuit of pleasure — a quest to satisfy the self.

C.S. Lewis: there are 4 types of love; affection, friendship, sexual love and what the Greeks called agape, is “a state of the will, which we have naturally about ourselves, and must learn to have about other people.”

Love is a very deep physical and spiritual resonance with another person, or perhaps an animal. It's much more than being kind, helpful and thoughtful and wanting to sacrifice for others. You can't really define LOVE for anyone else, because each person must define it for themselves.

Love is a very broad topic. But i would share my view on it as a general topic.
love- affection, warm liking. And where does this affection takes place? It therefore occures between people. So in a way we can show love by having a good relationship towards one another.
But sometimes what do we see in our society?
We show love to people who love us.
We deny ourselves by telling a lie to cover people
to show them that we love them etc.Do we call these Love?
To me i think love is to give our attention to the people who are in need, and then to correct our fellow human beings on wrong doings. And to speak the truth to each other at all times

You can't; there are too many forms of it. There is unrequited love, the love of siblings, of parents, of lovers, the love of friends and family......all are different from each other, yet have one thing in common.

Without love, life is meaningless. Only those who love themselves are capable of loving others. Love is what makes every day worthwhile, so never lose your capacity for it, whatever form it may take.

Love is the willingness to put another's well being before your own. Love is not a noun it is a verb. You can see love in action. Don't believe the words "I love you." if there is no action that demonstrates that the one loved is valued by every day actions.

If you have these 3 things in your relationship then it's gotta be love.
A)the willingness to put someone elses needs before your own and always wanting what is best for them.
B)accepting the other person in your life has faults and seeing who they are beyond those faults, accepting them as they are without forcing them to change.
C)wanting to do things for the special person in your life because you want to please them without expecting anything in return.

Basically, outside of personal chemistry, it's finding
someone that has what you don't have and want desperately.
Outside the romantic realm, it's something that grabs your
emotions and sends them to the very best place inside
of you, making you completely unselfish for that moment.

Good question. Are you looking for a long detailed answer or a generality?

I can give you both.

love is not finding a person to sleep with, but finding a person to wake up with in the morning -- naked
