Generally US is about 80-90% accurate. You can plan for a boy, but don't be shocked if it does actually pop out a girl. Some people get gender neutral items, and leave the tags on gender specific items for just in case.

If you wanted to know, why didn't you let her tell you? Just because the tech can tell the sex doesn't mean there's something sticking out. Ours could tell by the labia.

No, it means she could tell the sex of the baby. It doesn't mean it's a boy. It could be either one if she didn't specify.

At sixteen weeks its kinda hard to tell the sex...a swollen labia could appear to be a penis

no. my daughter was sexed at 16 weeks with an external u/s. it just means the got a good look at the genitals. why didn't you ask her what the sex was?
