They are not soft but i think the SEC and Big ten are better.
Besides USC, Cal, and UCLA the Pac 10 has nothing, maybe Oregon but thats about it. You can go on for days about the other two conferences. The big 10 has Penn St. Ohio St. , Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa and so on. The SEC has Florida, Arkansas, Tenn. , LSU and so on. I dont think its close. But the Pac 10 is definity better than every other confernce such as ACC and big east.

Man this is just the perception of what peoples think, it's not base on facts here. You want facts, OK the PAC 10 is 7-4 in the BCS bowls games since 1998 went the BCS system started. The ACC is the worst at 1-8 in a BCS bowls. And the PAC 10 is 6-1 against the BIG 12 last year, now that's facts for you. But no matter what happen this is a big year for the PAC 10 to proves them self that, the PAC 10 is weak, is just public perception, not base on facts.

The Pac-10 is stacked this year. I think out of the 10 teams, all but Stanford have a real chance at winning the conference.

Why dont USC schedule an LSU or a Florida during the regular season? Or Florida State? The PAC 10 wont get respect til they grab their balls and play those teams. But give Cal respect for taking on Tennessee

Who are "they?" They do have 3 teams ranked in the top 14 of the AP. With that in mind, I would have to say that they are even softer then "they" say.
