Squareness in sponges is a well known recessive trait. Simple Mendelian inheritance model of complete dominance predicts that 25% of F1 sponge offspring will be square. The genotype on your Punnett square for Bob would be homozygus ss.

It may be a total coincidence but the Spongebob's have an athletic and handsome neighbor who is square.

im a big fan of spongebob and i think that they are round because as you continue to use a sponge it gets all old and dirty and beause i think they are natural sea sponges not a sink sponge like spongebob

It's a genetic defect. The gene for his shape was messed up and caused him to be square. Or he could just have a distant relative that is square too. Haha j/k. If it was real that would be my guess.

one of spongebobs grandparents, great grandparents, great great and so on, may have been square. the 'square' gene could have been dormant and passed down for many generations until it became the dominant gene and he turned out square.
