My last five cycle lengths were 25, 29, 31, 28, and 31; which means I am O'ing on CD16, on average.

This is my first month charting CM. I am 34 yo. I know that women over 30 have less CM, and generally only 1-2 days of CM. This month, I had some CM on CD10 but no EW, followed by a healthy amount of EWCM on CD11, and then a LOT of EWCM on CD12...and I mean a LOT (e.g,. dripping)! And then back to light CM without EW on CD13. I guess this means that I O'ed on CD12, but that just seems so early to me! Is it possible I O'ed on CD12?

I'm asking this because I'm also using progesterone cream, and I'm not supposed to use it until after O'ing because it could suppress O. So I don't know if I should wait until CD16 to use the cream, or start using it now.

Thanks!

You need to chart your temps or get an OPK (ovulation kit). Going only on cervical mucous is a shot in the dark. Heat, arousal, and even fluid intake can effect your CM. Yes, I think you could have ovulated on day twelve and this will be a 25 day cycle. The mucous starts before the egg is released, so you could have even ovulated on day thirteen. If you take a basal temperature reading and your temp is over 98.2 chances are you ovulated because pre-ovulation basal temps are between 97.4-97.8 and rise a whole degree after ovulation. Hope this helps!

To eliminate all of the guess work, you need to chart your bbt. You might also want to look into a CBEFM or buy opk's especially if you need to use the cream. You can buy the opk's on ebay (for next month, if you need them) or just run to a drug store. Good luck but it does sound like you O'ed early.

Your calculation seems correct about when you ovulated. Women ovulate 12-16 days before theri next period, with an average of 14 days. If you ovulated on day 12, then your length this cycle would be somewhere between 24-28 days, which is not abnormal.
