Don't take a birth control pill as it will affect your hormones and could cause you to get depressed as a teenage girl. I suggest you find a nice guy and marry him asap and then get pregnant...9 months of no periods :) Good luck sweetie!

Heavy periods and "bad skin" may be a sign of hypothyroidism, or an underactive thyroid. You needn't ask your mum about the pill; simply tell her you're having heavy, painful periods (dysmenorrhea) and would like to be evaluated and diagnosed by a physician because you're tired of heavy bleeding and cramps.

Read about hypothyroidism at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hypothyroidism/DS00353.

There may be other causes for your heavy periods, of course. Only a doctor can tell you what's going on!

Tell your mom what your concerns are and you want to talk to the doctor about options. To ease her concerns, perhaps you could have her come in to see the doctor with you to ask any questions she may have. I won't recommend a specific pill, because there are too many options and it's best that a doctor do that. There could also be other options you may not be aware of.

If you're really interested in this, tell your mom what you want to do. Make a plan as to why it'll help and why it'll make your life easier. Propose her to the idea.

The best way for me to recommend b/c is to just tell you to go to your doctor or do some research on different kinds on the Internet. Be sure to consider which ones have more side affects.

Hope this helped! Good luck!

i have just started a pill called Dianette which helps these but your doctor will most likely try you on other medecines before s/he resorts to this. if you explain to your mum about the heavy periods, cramps and bad skin and ask her to take you to the GP, i hope she'll be happy to oblige.
