Hey all,here to test the general publics math skills again....Its a word problem & here it is ; It is sort of a trick question,so be careful when you answer.Goodluck!!

You write a check out to your friend for 300 dollars.Your friend gives you 300 dollars cash and lets you borrow 300 dollars as well. Now, you go shopping & write out another check for 600 dollars.Then you goto the bank and deposit 600 dollars.How much did you actually spend?

If you assume that you had no other cash than was mentioned:

The $600 you deposit is the $300 cash and the $300 borrowed.

You spent the $600 check.

(Your bank balance is $300 less than it started - $600 spent less $300 borrowed).

the solution is indeterminate. We can assume that the entire $600 check is spent shopping, but there is no information on how much cash was spent. In fact, you could have had some cash on hand when you wrote the check to your friend, ubt even if not, the answer could be anything from 600 to 1200.

You don't say how much was spent shopping. Assume $600 was spent shopping. So you spent $600 and you still owe your friend $300 which you borrowed but did not spend.
