I was working as a part time manager at a U.S. Navy club/restaurant back in the late 60's and that seemed to be a very favorite one on the juke box. In '68 it was in the TOP FIVE of Ameican music.I could listen and listen and listen to it!

I remember the song but I can't recall a TV show that introduced it. And I am the Queen of trivia. Ugh Was it American Bandstand?

I knew Oklahoma City made some claim to Mason Williams, guess I didn't watch enough Smothers Bros. Great guitar.

I remember the Mason Williams album from when I was in junior high. It was on vinyl that was many different colors blended so they looked like they were melted together. It was the first multi-colored record I had ever seen.

i love that song. my friends thought i was nuts.(i marched to a diferent beat) i learned how to play it on the guitar when i was younger but have since forgotten. i didn't know it was from a tv show though. i'll take a guess- hawaii 5 0?
