Why do people cry when they laugh too hard?

Why is this in the geology section?

I would imagine its just from an emotional response. We cry when we over overwhelmed with sadness so it stand to reason we can cry when overwhelmed with amusement.

Maybe there's a more medical explanation, but I'm not a doctor.
