On the bottom right corner on paint you can change the length and width of the page and on the bottom they show numbers sorta like a grid or something... is there a way to figure out how big is an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. I already tried making the page 8 1/2 x 11 and its a tiny tiny square so i was thinking we cant use inches but i'm not the best at math we could say so if anyone knows post it here and ill give you 10 points.

Open a blank document in Paint. Click Image > Attributes. Put a dot for "inches", enter 8.5 for width and 11 for height and click "ok".

The image area is now 8.5 x 11 like a piece of paper.

The number in the corner is the number of pixels, not the inches.
To get an 8 1/2 x 11 inch picture at about 300 dpi you should make the window 2550 x 3300.
When you print it out, you need to set it in
File menu > page setup
Look for Fit To, and set it to fit to 1 to 1 for the page.

If you go File > Page Setup, you can adjust your printer margins. Printers have a minimum value that this can be set (usually .25"). Default in paint is .75".

Subtract that from the page size and your image size should be 7.75" x 10.25"

To set the the canvas proportions, go to Image > Attributes. You can set by in, cm, or pixels.

If you want to work with a smaller image, but want to use the most of your page, go back into the Page Setup and check the Fit to Page boxes with values of 1, 1.

Hope this helps.

The computer section might be more helpful than the science section.
