The lawyer is engaged and authorized to ask for it.

Now I tell you why the spouse should be compensated. Supposed I am married to a wife who has no source of income, and now I want to divorce her. Where shall she go? Where from she will meet her daily needs? Since I have spent some years with her and she has surrendered her all, I should not be so cruel to leave her to destitute.

In husband's case, it is visa versa. A lawyer can plead the case in the Court but can neither personally compel the other spouse to compensate his client, nor can he ask the other to pay for their attorney fee.

Show me the money!!! In the case of k-Fed & Brit, she pays him $20,000 a month. She makes $730,000 a month, so why not have her pay his high power attorney fees. That probably comes up to double of what he's getting a month from her. It all comes down to money, the more one has. The more the other wants.

in the state where I live it is normal for both parties to ask for the other to pay atty fees , however it is rarely granted. It has to be a very bad divorce for one party to have to pay both attys. Legal ... yes , normal for it to be granted.... no

they do it all the time so you have to say no. if its over child support let me tell you they will do it though and let the other pay for it the one not making payemtns that is why you have to be careful what you wish for.

because the winning side always asks, it's a deterrent from always rushing back to court for every little thing.
