A Jordie is a slang term for someone who lives in
Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the north-east of England. Although it can also describe somewhere who is from Sunderland
(a town about 10 miles from Newcastle city centre).

A Geordie is from the Tyneside area of Newcastle, and has an accent that is similar in some ways to Scottish brogue. "The bairn's a hack mucky" would be understood by a scotsman to mean that the baby needs a bath.
Do not confuse a Geordie with a Mackem (from Sunderland). They will not like it.
There are amusing entries in Wikipedia for both dialectic groups.
