I really want to start building the planes from WW2, but I want to get to the point where I am good enough to not mess them up and I want to paint them as well. Any good pointers would be a great help. Thanks.

WOW.. hit your hobby shop and PICK the less expensive models. While you're there, buy a copy of "Fine Scale Modeller" which will give you GREAT building, finishing, and painting tips.

I've been building for 35+ years... it is ALL practice, as well as the right tools.

Well i think that really when everyone starts out on anything that you are going to make some mistakes. You just have to do your best and really it depends on what kind of model you are doing. like what its made of or how you are painting and what kinds of paints you are using.

Jack, you didn't specify what kind of models you want to build. Plastic display models? Balsa stick models? Balsa flying models? Do you want to airbrush them? What scale are you looking to build?

We modelers are ready willing and able to give you any help we can. Just ask!

Have fun, Bill
