has anyone recently gone to america on a waiver free visa and got through customs despite having a past conviction and not declaring it. Talking about driving related conviction. Would us embassy refuse visa on this type of conviction. What are the chances of us customs having this information at hand at the airport?

I know how you can get into america very easily.

Travel to Mexico, or most Central American countries.

Travel north towards the US border.

Make a run for it at night fall.

If you get caught, try again tomorrow.

If you have committed a crime (including minor traffic offenses) which resulted in an arrest and/or conviction then you will not qualify for entry to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. See below for more details.

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/arrests_and_convictions.html

So since you stated you have a conviction then you will have to apply for a holiday (B-2) visa. All of the details on how to this can be found on the website below.

The U.S Embassy would not refuse you a B-2 visa for traffic related offenses, so don't worry about it. When you attend you visa interview just answer their questions honestly and you will have no problems.

If you travel under the visa waiver program with a conviction the chances are very high that they will have this information at hand. They will already have screened you and done a background check on you before you even arrive at customs/immigration. Not the mention that they now fingerprint you and take your photo upon entering. The simple fact of the matter is you will be on the next flight home, no ifs, no buts since you would have no right of appeal under the vwp.

If you go to the US embassy site in London on the web you will find the requirements for using the Visa waiver program. Currently with computers being what they are they can make a quick search and find convictions in seconds. There is a visa waiver wizard. It will tell you if you should see a counselor for a Visa prior to entering the US. Any conviction (even traffic convictions) can sometimes keep you from using the Visa waiver program. I would hate for you to fly to the US only to be turned around at customs. If you lie on the waiver application and are caught you could be posted at the customs and permanently denied access to the US.

Go to this site:

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/index.html

Click on visa waiver program

then click on visa waiver wizard

Hope you have a great trip to the USA

I have speeding points and got in with no trouble. I would guess that as long as the driving conviction was not drug / explosives / terror related and nobody was killed you should have no problems.

Check the US embassy web site for Visa Waiver conditions

i just got back from america 2 weeks ago and if you've ever been to America before then they will have your fingerprint on file. If not then they will take a fingerprint. if the conviction was in America then they will know about it but depending on what it is doubt they will do anything.

its easy and cheap to get in from mexico. heres how:

1. go to a junkyard
2. find a trashed car
3. remove car door (preferably drivers side)
4. place door in water
5. get on car door
6. float north

then when you get in illegally, find a decent job, pay no taxes, and enjoy your time on easy street!
