Maybe a little bit, I'm not sure. My hubby's a great guy, but he was single up until he was 39 years old... literally, he'd never lived with a woman or had a relationship longer than a few years. I say, he was just waiting for me : )

The reason nice guys finish last most of the time is because people walk all over them. They take advantage of the nice guy.
The old adage "give them an inch and they take a mile." That refers to the "nice" guy.
You have to learn to be a nice guy with an attitude. Your nice, but you bite the hand that screws you.
Women are the most strange with this. Nice guys they want to marry, but not who they want to play with. They generally end up staying with the bad guy and telling the good guy. "Oh I sure wish I had stayed with you."
Nice guys do finish last - most of the time if not tempered with self respect.

It might seem like they do, but when you consider how much longer the nice and honest have to work, you will quickly realize that they are simply doing things the right way. That's why it appears that they finish last, however, they always come out shining in the long run! Have a great and safe holiday weekend! Annie

No. Not at all.
There is a difference -- a BIG difference -- between being nice, and doing all but bending over.
Also: in what context? In a business context, yes, there are some industries or jobs in which being a "ball buster" is what pays. As for socially (i.e. with females) I think "nice guys" tend to fare worse than their not-as-nice counterparts during HS and college, while later on, the nice guys do a hell of a lot *better* than their counterparts.

No, spineless guys finish last. There's a huge difference between being nice and being spineless. Someone who is nice will be polite and courteous, but will know when it's appropriate to be assertive or aggressive. A spineless person doesn't know when to be assertive or aggressive and just lets everyone run all over them.
