My son is 9 months old and still breastfed.

I haven't had a period yet but today I've had a bit of brown spotting, the first sign of anything I've seen since I gave birth! Could this be my cycle slowly returning to normal?

My period came back when my daughter was 12 months and I was weaning her. It was a normal period, no difference from pre-pregnancy periods.

I had my first period 12 weeks after giving birth even though I was exclusively breastfeeding!
It was really just some brown discharge for about 3 days. So a similar experience to you.

A month later it was more like a normal period.

Well I've only been nursing for 3 months now and that has been really weird for me. I spot for like a day and not a lot at all, and then I stop and about 2 weeks later same thing. I'm not sure if it's just a really short period or something else but it doesn't seem like a period since it just happens for a day and goes away and comes back weeks later.

I breastfed for 12 months, but AF came back after 4. IT was a bit of a surprise, but nothing unusual. When I cast my mind back I guess it was how they used to be pre pregnancy and pre pill. I don't recall any spotting, but I guess if it was only short then I might have missed it...

Well done for breastfeeding this long, I know it can be tough sometimes. I'm quite jealous re: 9 months!

Yup, the timing sounds right. Mine came back between 9months-1 year. I say between because it was a little spotting here and there, but not a real period until 12 or 13 months.

Lucky you! actually it should be muddy and brownish to start out with. I breastfeed all my babies but always had my period about 3 months after i started. except with my middle child.. i got pregnant 7 weeks after i had him. Who New! I thought that if i was breastfeeding i wouldn't get pregnant. :P It will probably be a pretty strong period. the next one will probably be pretty bad too.
good luck and congrats on the baby

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/sDAyJ
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

Mine was very light - infact I've only just had my second one which was also light.

I only got mine a couple of months after stopping breast feeding.

It can take a while for your body to get going again.

Im enjoying the break!
