ANY kind of abuse is unacceptable. Verbal abuse does not leave visible marks, but it does leave emotional scars that sometimes never heal.

I am not sure about the legality of verbal abuse, but contact a lawyer or your local child protective service and find out.

Yes. Any sort of mental or emotional abuse is illegal, and a reason to call Social Services. Each state has specific guidelines on what qualifies as mental/emotional abuse.

Abuse is abuse no matter how you look at it. I think all parents yell and say things to kids they don't mean. Of course it's not right for them to do. As far as illegal, Im not sure about that. You could check into it and find out.

Yes it is illegal. It's emotional abuse, which can be just as, if not more, damaging than physical abuse in some cases.

Verbal abuse is like other kinds, only you can't see the marks.
Children take what their parents say about them seriously.
The results can be extremely damaging for life.
It's just harder to prove in courts; watch Dr. Phil on TV.

Depends on what you are considering verbal abuse. "Get your *** in there and clean that room" isn't verbal abuse. "You are a worthless piece of crap and I wish I'd never given birth to you", that's abuse. Contact Social Services and they'll investigate.

Sad truth is that yes it is still "ABUSE". Report any and all child abuse to authorities, this is a terrible tragedy going on right now, and probably next door.
"STOP CHILD ABUSE" "GET INVOLVED"
