if you got the bank, L'Espalier, look it up online first because it is way more then 15$. if you go on monday nights they have a wine tasting paired with food it is 4 courses and only runs you 55$ per person which really is not that bad for what you are getting. it is very french and romantic, also a place called les zagomates. in the south end is a small french bistrot with affordable prices. there are a ton af great restaurants in cambridge too, cragie street bistrot, upstairs on the square, oleana, also check www.bostonchefs.com, it is a great site to look at more upscale places, check their menus and prices.
I also agree with piperdog95 that both of her suggestions are wonderful i have been to both several times. toro in the southend is awesome to one of my favorites.

Obviously the North End is a great way to go...try Mother Anna's on Hanover (google it for the website). It's one of the rare places in the North End with a patio and at night it's truely beautiful. You get to see the city light up all around you, lots of people watching and it's a very short walk to the harbor. The food isn't the best you've ever had...still really good though and a good value for the ambiance. I loved it when my hubby took me there.

Take her to Cuchi Cuchi on Main St. in Cambridge. It is international tapas, so you could get a mix of small plates and try a bit of everything. They have beautiful, romantic, funky decor and awesome cocktails. http://www.cuchicuchi.cc/
Or, another great place is Tangierino in Charlestown. It has a very romantic Lawrence of Arabia, casbah feel, great food and a great wine list. The ambiance is super romantic; some of the tables are like little mini silken tents. They even have belly dancing and a hookah bar! http://www.tangierino.com/
I would love it if my husband took me to either place!

Grotto in the Back Bay is GREAT and so romantic, but it's going to be more than $15! Most places will. . . .If you are on a smaller budge, try somewhere like Ned Devines, or even the Cheesecake Factory.

Legal Seafood. Locations all over - and some of the best clam chowder. Also, try the Oyster House downtown near Faneuil Hall and Quincy market. Excellent chowder there, too, and the place is quaint/charming.
