No,I make out like it's a big event. I want sympathy and attention. I expect someone to help me up,even though I am in no need of assistance. I turn a little thing like that into high melodrama. I'm the Bette Davis of public slips, trips and falls.

If I stumble in public, I act like nothing happened....

Falling is a different story, you just gotta dust yourself off and walk on......

No I am hurting real bad and feel very shame that I lost balance. People normally laugh at you when one has fallen. You cannot pretend nothing happen when everyone or someone is looking at you.You get up and says everything is okay when it is not because of shame or embarrassment.

I look around to check that no one has seen, if they have i just carry on walking. I was running along a path at the side of an extremely busy road and i tripped over a circular piece of wire, i nearly fell but my fingers touched the floor and i managed to stop myself, i was so embarrassed because loads of people had seen me, so i carried on running as fast as i could away from the road to recover my dignity!!!

I used to when I was younger because I was embarassed for being clumsy.
As I got older, I would make a joke of it and try to laugh it off even if I was hurting.
Now that I'm Older..., I relax and check all my body parts for injury before I try to get up. Once I've wiggled my fingers & toes, I then try to figure a way to get up, which is not as easy it used to be.
I'm really not as old as I sound!!

If you are in a public place, isn't it rather obvious if you fall ?? If that were to happen, I'd try to laugh it off unless I was really hurt. Its even worse if you bump into someone carrying a full tray !!!

I personally laugh it off.

But I saw a lady slip and bust her butt in the post office the other day. She laid in the floor and cried like a baby for half and hour until the paramedics came. I think she wanted to get as many witnesses and as much documentation as she could for her law suit.....

i dont pretend nothing happened.
instead, i look around, eyebrows pulled together with a puzzled expression on my face. (laughing on the inside) and think did I do that?!?

or just laugh at my stupidity and how non-graceful i am.
heh

I just start to stumble every second step so people think that is just how I walk.
